Question to Garmin Staff. After this update free space on my F5X dropped from almost 6gb to 1gb. Is it normal? Now there is no place for another maps, that I use. This files are still in my device (D4713060C.img and D6019000A.img) Are they required or just the temps that should be removed after succesful update?

The same question on my side. A lot of GBs occupied by new img files. Is it safe to remove them?
What maps are they? You can find out by renaming the files by replacing the extension .img with something different, eg .xyz. Then see if anything changes. If not you can then safely remove them.
Same question here. Just did a map update on Fenix 5X and now have 1GB memory free. Appear to have a load of file that were created by the update. I get the feeling that they are temporary files and should have been removed by the update once finished. Could someone confirm which of these files can safely be deleted. (ignoring the "fs_image.ver" file).
Without knowing which maps they are no. See my advice above. Note the .gma and .unl files are the necessary unlock files for the .img file of the same name. So whichever .img file you need keep the corresponding .unl and .gma files.
