Can't Rearrange Widgets?

On 8.99B. I just noticed yesterday that my widgets were out of order (possibly since installing 8.99). I can't seem to get a rearrangement to stick. I've tried with my laptop via USB and with my Android Oreo Pixel. Anyone else run into this and have a way to wrok around it? Thanks team.
  • I reported a similar problem with Applications not just widgets where whatever you set them in favorites they get re-arranged after sync'ing
  • my god, where do you find those garmin connect "developers"? do they even test what they try to code? obviously not! it took me less than one minute to find two big bugs. i really can't describe how poor it is, what garmin is offering with its software and firmware.

    today a new ios version of garmin connect became available: ok, widgets can be sorted again and data fields with updates are listed as well... BUT...

    1.) third party widgets will always end at the end of all other widgets - no matter how you sort them. garmin widgets are sorted correctly. after you sorted the widgets and sync, third party widgets are listed at the end. you still need to sort those apps on the watch.

    2.) apps can now be sorted again as well. BUT: favorite apps are GONE. none of the apps in the favorite list appear in the app.

    I’m having the same problem on my Fenix 5 (9.20) and iPhoneX! The reordering with the phone app doesn’t work, no matter what!
    The only way it works is reordering with the watch, but every now and then the widgets appeared scrambled again!
    Please register this as an issue for the developers to solve!

  • Yes I have the problem on android .......you can arrange them on the watch....and your chosen configuration will remain....but the feature in GCM is corrupted....( has been for a while....reported and mentioned by others) and will rearrange the IQ widgets...AND IQ APPS if I try to rearrange from there.....
    Also this happens when updating software....
    For about one month.
    This does not effect my favorite apps....also mentioned by others before...

    would be great if sorting from the app works.
  • same issue. if i reorder on my watch the order is wiped out on the next sync. it is pretty annoying
  • Yip I have a similar issue. I can rearrange widgtes on my watch , but when I do a sync , they all go back to previous order
  • Still happening for me with the apps. I haven't really tried the widgets. Doesn't matter if you use the GC apps or the watch itself after each sync they get screwed again.

    Really annoying.

    It's been over 3 months now. Is there any word on a fix? I'm using an Android phone (a second Android phone since this started) and have a FR935. To recap: When I sync my watch with Garmin Express all my IQ widgets and apps are rearranged in alphabetical order following native Garmin widgets and apps. The apps re also removed as favorites. I can try and put them back in the order I had them using either Garmin Express or GCM and it will say I'm successful, but the widgets and apps are still rearranged. The only way to put them back is to do so manually on the watch. This happened immediately following the installation of FW 8.99. I contacted support over three months ago and sent them my files and have yet to hear anything. Well, I've had several FW updates for my 935, updates for Garmin Express and GCM for Android and the problem is still there for many with the Fenix 5x and the FR935. It would be nice to get a status update and not the "we're unaware of this problem", or "this is the first we're hearing about this" responses we're constantly getting when we contact support by phone or email. Thanks in advance.
  • Rearranging Widgets via the Garmin Connect App was only mean to work with Garmin Fitness devices that do not allow users to be able to do this via their watches.

    Since the fenix 5 series does allow users to rearrange the Widgets via the watch, the app is working as design when it doesn’t allow users to rearrange them.

    Though, we will look into it and please continue to rearrange your Widgets via your fenix 5 until you hear otherwise.


    This is one of the dumbest excuses I've heard in a long time.
    1) Initially, you say that thanks to the phone info, you now could reproduce the problem -- now turned into a feature.
    2) Because you have now a somewhat small screen for re-arranging item, you deny the (previously) existing possibility to do this on a way more comfortable screen-size. Where's the logic in this?
    3) The above means that you (Garmin) have put effort aka resources/money into coding an existing (and functioning) feature out. --> Where's the economical benefit in this?
    4) If done purposely: Why is the re-arrangement possibility then still available in the app? Obviously not enough ressources spent, or -- it is a bug!

    --> Go fix this, Garmin!
