Notification Icons

I know that the Garmins are not the best when it comes to resolution, but I'm disappointed that notifications seem to bear the same icon. When I glance through there's no immediate difference between texts, phone apps (twitter etc) and emails - only one that differs is News!!
Is it a setting or just the way it is?

There are different notification icons for text and emails, but if you want more notification icons then we want to hear your idea. Garmin is always improving our devices and we do that by listening to the people that use them. I must be doing something wrong then.... all of my icons are the same whether its Texts, Mail or LinkedIn. Just a Green Speech Bubble
Only one that differs is Twitter. (See Pic)

Any advice??

I think in the older versions of Connect mobile app, in Settings - > Smart notifications, where you turn the notifications for particular app, there used to be a an option to categorize that app (e-mail, messenger, social media etc.). Based on that category, the icon would look different. BUT - I can't see this option anymore. Nevertheless, my notifications would have an envelope for e-mail and the bubble for messenger or Google Hangout chat.

Thanks Alex, yes, the App Settings are pretty lame for notifications - ALL ON or CALLS ONLY
Maybe its a limitation on what App your emails come from - I use the GMAIL App for emails.

Was there any resolution to this issue? My icons used to be unique to the application but as of several months ago, they too are all the green balloon.

Only just logged in since my holiday so apologies or not responding sooner.
I have now switched to the the Fenix 5 Plus and my icons are working fine!! No more green balloons for everything. Hopefully someone with a Fenix 5 will respond.
I assume you've done on your updates.

Same here with my new F5. Just out of the box it worked fine and in CG i could see the setting where you filter the apps from which you get notifications or not.
A few minutes later i did the first update on the watch firmware and the issue described in this topic occurred.
CG won't allow to filter app notification (and show the list of apps installed on the Android phone) and F5 is showing only the general green baloon with dots for every notification.
Tried to uninstall and reinstall CG but the issue is still there.
I just sent an email to the support, i really hope they can fix this, as it seems to be just a glitch (but an annoying one)

Have you found any solution to this? The latest GCM does not seem to allow for selection of notification categories as well as icons on Android.

Hi,

Is there any update from Garmin on this topic? I see Fenix 5+ and 6 are supporting different apps icons, while we with Fenix 5 can only see the green speech bubble! I'm sure if it works on 5+ and 6, it should work on 5.

I, for one, would like to see the option again and categorize alerts to what app shows what icon. Is that possible?
