Suggestion for Do Not Disturb

I like the notifications on my watch but not when I'm not wearing it which is as soon as I'm home, I have never wore a watch at home and will never do but I always do when I leave the house, the vibration on the watch is quite strong and becomes very noisy when laying on a table so I made the habit of switching on the Do Not Disturb on the watch as soon as I take it off. The problem is that it switches itself back on the next day which is very annoying on a Saturday and Sunday morning.

There should be an option where the watch would silence itself when it detects it is not in use and un-silence itself when the user puts it on, moreover it shouldn't be hard to implement as it already detects when it is not in use, the HRM is constantly on when I wear it but it switches itself off when I put it on the table, it already does this, so why not turn on the Do Not Disturb as well, I mean notifications are only useful when the watch is on the wrist, when on a table it is just noise. There should be an option for this, I shouldn't be needing to take care of this manually or think about it at all.
  • Why don't you do what I do? I put my phone into airplane mode when not in use. If that's too extreme, then just turn off bluetooth.

Because I’m not talking about my phone which I continue to use while I’m in the house, I’m talking about the watch, also turning on and off the bluetooth or airplane mode again is something I would need to keep micromanaging just like turning on and off the Do No Disturb of the watch, my request is for the watch to do this on its own since it already does this automatically for the heart rate monitor. There should not be a need for rituals of switching things on and off on these devices when they can easily do it on their own.
  • Have you tried going into settings>system>sounds and turning off vibration when you're home? That will stay off as long as you want.

thank you that could potentially work, I mean at least it wouldn’t switch itself on again the next day, but it would be just as turning on and off the bluetooth on the watch. I would love if it would do it on its own, not having to fiddle with screens at all, just taking the watch off and on your wrist would suffice just like it already does with the heart rate monitor.

Anyways, is there a place (I know garmin doesn’t read these forums) where I could submit this feature request?
  • Another thing to try is going into system>DND, and turn off DND during sleep times, and then just turn it off and on manually. What's happening is at you wake time, it's turning DND off, and this should stop that.

Thank you that’s actually a great idea, I’ll try that, I’d still like the feature for automating this though, I’ve submitted it through a Garmin form I found, but for now I’ll do just that, thank you.
