Here i am again. This time with a better result (for now). I have update to 8.99 and after that i reset my watch to factory defaults. Today i run a route with a couple of friends and now the GPS is working ok i had the same results as my friends and the route follows the roads pretty ok. So fingers crossed and hope this is the solution......

Troubleshooting the altimeter and barometer can be tricky due to all the outside factors that come into it. Please take a look at this useful information, Troubleshooting steps for fenix Chronos and fenix 5 altimeter and barometer, if that doesn't work, reach out to us through our Product Support channels (phone, email, or chat) so that we can work with you directly.
  • Also note that if you want your altimeter to be properly auto calibrated at the start of a workout, you must get a GPS fix before starting the workout.

Of course i know all the QA and manuals. I use epix (best, forgotten ultrawatch) for trail running from the beginning. Also use Fenix 3. But this Fenix5x is no go for me :/ I tested several options today and started (fresh EPO) F3 and F5X at the same time and elevation quickly goes rogue from manual setting (42meters) on Fenix5 and been rock stable on F3. Ehh it seems i have to hard reset (again) or go for exchange with support :/ and AGAIN set everything in watch for me (quite of customization. Of course testing are on all defaults). It seems garmin dont do Quality Testing and just wait for us to complain and go for replace...
