Fenix 5X: http://www8.garmin.com/support/downl...s.jsp?id=11665

Note: Please allow for the updates to propagate across all servers. There is no need to post that the link does not work. It will after a bit of patience.

8.99 Change Log Notes:
• Added support for communication with a Garmin Xero A1i Bow Sight. The Bow Sight is capable of sending Laser Locate waypoints to the watch. These are accessible from the XERO widget (Settings > Widgets > Add Widgets > XERO) and can be further used to navigate to.
• Added support for communication with a Garmin inReach Mini. (Settings > Widgets > Add Widgets > inReach) The widget acts as a remote and allows one to send preset texts, customized quick texts and trigger a SOS message.
• Added support for selecting alternate locations within the Sunrise and Sunset widget. (Widget > Menu > Location)
• Added support for Garmin Vector 3 power meter software updates.
• Fixed a possible crash that could occur when downloading stored heart rate data from a Garmin HRM-Tri or HRM-Swim.
• Improved the accuracy of the pace/speed target gauge during workouts.
Please send all bug reports to "][email protected], and indicate which model of the fenix 5 series you have in the subject line.

Please note, the beta updates released on these forums are not suitable for APAC region devices.
• I am very glad my experience with my 5x is not the same experience that some of you have had. I have no issues with GPS. I ran a certified 1/2 marathon course recently and the watch reported 13.15 distance. This is more than "close enough." That was also the first time I've used the optical HRM in months. The data reported via connect for the run looked quite good. There were a few small odd spikes or drops in a couple of places, but generally the numbers were believable and in line with what i normally see from my HRM-Run. The track after the race was more than fine based on the path we ran.

The watch seems to track my sleep, my steps and stress well enough. Stress in particular is vastly improved for me on this most recent firmware.

It is an incredible tool for when I'm out in the mountains, and and i'm more than happy. I understand that some people are having some bugs. I have noticed a few here and there, but none have been show stoppers. This beta firmware doesn't play nicely with a CIQ watch face i really like, but honestly that is hard to blame on Garmin as 1. the software is beta, 2. i doubt they are testing to see how the watch lags with a specific CIQ watch face. I think you guys are taking lack of communication from the feinx beta team as a lack of concern/care for their customers. I don't see this at all.

• I've just updated my F5X to 8.99. Feedback is very positive. GPS tracks are much less wobbly and much more accurate. Let's see with next long run.
• anybody else having problems with SLEEP TRACKING? as i reported yesterday, my sleep tracking is totally wrong after the beta update. last night the tracking startet about 5 hours to late (at about 3 o'clock in the night).

i was also hoping for a fix with third party cadence sensors. with the wahoo cadence sensor (which came together with my wahoo kickr 3) the fenix starts the activity with about 70000 rpm. it goes down to the real value very quickly, but leaves the average cadence higher, than the highest cadence through the activity. very annoying. the wahoo cadence sensor does not have this problem when connected to other devices.
• I had one day of "odd" sleep tracking, but it was because the device synced during the middle of the night. Opening connect and syncing in the morning added the missing hours. Otherwise sleep tracking has been fine for me.
• I can't really speak to battery much at the moment. I just came off a pretty heavy training cycle where i was using lots of GPS every day. I have used the GPS far less with this software version so my battery life has been "better" but since my use pattern changed drastically I can't really comment.
• Last recharge 96 hours ago. Wearing 24hrs a day with two 45-minute runs (one w/HRM-Run strap), battery level now at 58%. Quickly pairs with strap, GPS lock speed above average, GPS tracking accuracy very good, physiological metrics similar (avg heart rate same, calories slightly lower, VO2 Max slightly lower). Data transfers via wifi still not 100% reliable on first try (or in background - sometimes have to reboot watch before finds my wifi ap). Other than that no odd glitches to note with 8.99 in last 5 days.
