Several times my Connect has informed me of a GPS update, yet it fails to install. I have disconnected my 5X from my Windows 10 laptop each time. I know that it's possible to install update files to the REMOTE directory on the watch. Is there a location to download the update file and force an install? Thanks Team!
I did try Webupdater. That did show that the GPS chip update was available and said it installed correctly. But when I ejected the watch from the computer, restarted and checked, it was still on 4.30. I tried this twice with the same result. Each time the updated was listed as available in webupdater, and reported "success" after install. I guess I'm stuck.
Good suggestion! I had not used the GPS since attempting the update. I just did, and unfortunately the watch reports I am still on 4.30. Note too that each time I connected with webupdater, it said there was an update for the GPS chip available, and claimed it was a "successful" install! Thanks for your help and for responding!
Did the watch say there was a new update after express installed it? Mine downloaded then the watch reported there was an update and did its thing. Don't know if you tried a watch soft reset?
Yes! I had to manually go to software update, then it said there was an update available and successfully installed it. Thanks to all who responded! Normally these updates install themselves, but this one didn't. No matter I'm now on GPS 4.40!
