After doing a treadmill run with the HRM run 4 strap and the Fenix 5 watch placed nearby, I started a run and noticed running dynamics providing data except for Pace, Vertical ratio and Stride length. During the run I then put the watch on and these figures started appearing. I thought the HRM run 4 strap was supposed to be able to detect pace and stride length as well or are these only provided by the watch and hence I have to wear the watch during non-GPS runs?
Pace is measured by the watch's accelerometer for indoor activities and outdoor activities when gps fails (tunnels for example). Accelerometer in the hrm is for running dynamics.
correct me if I'm wrong, but i think no...because if i'm remember right, the hrm4-run has no ability to store information - only the hrm4-swim could store a little amount of data...
No. It isn't storage, it can't generate pace at all. Stride length is calculated by the watch from step timings from the HRM (which are more accurate than watch accelerometer) combined with speed, as far as I can tell.
