Just updated my Fenix 5X with a new GPS Update. Not sure what improvements this is intended to provide but it is available on Garmin Express, though does not show as a software download otherwise on Garmin's support page as of tonight.

I did not get it; my GPS version says 4.30, I connected to Express and it attempted to update a Routable Cycling map (2018.10) which repeatedly fails -- but no GPS update was offered.
After the update via the watch it showed version 0.00 but after I went to map and GPS got activated it shows now 4.40. I live in Sweden and got the update via the watch itself and not via garmin express
Didn't know there were maps too - must have just appeared. Connected watch and its downloading files. Downloaded and says activing maps and then fails. 8.0 Firmware.
I'm not showing anything from Garmin Connect except the map update. I'm running 5.84B and system shows GPS 4.30. No change after a couple of full restarts. Maybe the next beta will have the GPS improvement for the rest of us.
I am updating the maps currently. As far as the GPS update yesterday, I am was not using the beta but version 8 of the OS. Unfortunately I am getting an error installing the update after it downloaded the Map Update on GE.
