Hi Garmin! Please explain to me the GPS trail recorded by my Fenix 5S watch. It's totally crazy for a device that costs over 600 Euro... ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1335938.jpg
GPS + GLONASS was activated 1 sec. recording was also activated
The building that you see there is a school that is 2-storey high. So clearly not a tall building by any means.
I suggest you try using GPS only with GLONASS off. Some have reported better results when using GPS only.
Interesting in how the location accuracy problem was always in the same area. Maybe it has something to do with the orientation of the watch. I do wonder if there is something near that area of the running track where errors were occurring. The two story building does not look to be a problem since the GPS tracking looks to be the most accurate when your are close to the building. I'd be curious to know if you see the same problems if you run on that track on a different day.
I've tried with only GPS but the results are the same (if not even worse). And by the way, there were no clouds in the sky during my run. It was very nice weather, which was actually one of the reasons why I went running. My girlfriend has a Forerunner 35 and her watch, while still not perfect, recorded the same run much, much better than my Fenix 5S. Since the GPS chipset seems capable of providing good accuracy (at least in Bike mode) I would expect Garmin to work on the software side in order to achieve the same in Run mode. At least they should acknowledge the issue...
