Any Suunto Converts here?

I currently use my Fenix 5 on a daily basis and enjoy not only the features on the watch, but also the features offered by the mobile and web platforms. That said, I am still intrigued by Suunto's new Spartan Ultra line. Has anyone used on of the Spartan Ultras and decided to return to a Fenix?
  • Not quite what you asked - but I came from an Ambit 3 that started going a bit wonky to the F5. Personally, despite all the people moaning everywhere, I am very happy.

I also had (still have) a Suunto Ambit 3 and find the F5 and the Connect app to better suit my needs. So far fewer bugs with the F5 than the Ambit.
  • Nice to see that I'm not the only one happy with my watch. If you spend enough time here, you'll start to think that the Fenix is the devils own watch designed to drag us to hell one bug at a time.

Indeed. I tend to gripe on individual issues, but overall I think it is an amazing watch to own because the feature set is so large, and from my experience it is also very reliable and solid. The biggest difficulty for me is GPS consistency and reliability, because I have in my case found that I cannot use the watch reliably for pace or even distance of a run.
But for the rest, it works well, it offers me all I could think of as a smartwatch - and more, including its looks, and I am not inclined to replace it any time soon.

Vice versa, gave up on Fenix5 and went to suunto spartan sport Baro and enjoying it, less features but more releastic workout data as device seems more accurate and I don’t have any pod/strap connection dropouts. Altimeter is spot on and non comparable to f5 in terms of accuracy. As well getting better GPS accuracy. OHRM is awesome and works just fine even in pool! One drawback is only battery and less informative fitness stuff like 24/7 hr, sleep and etc, but I don’t care much leave this stuff to Fitbit :)
    My two cents.
