Lactate Threshold

Even though I have run seven times outdoors since my last LT reading with a 5X and a HRM-Tri I am not getting lactate threshold readings anymore. Connect says that I haven't any eligible data. I haven't changed anything as far as I know but have always had LT data. Can anyone help?
  • tickerguy - no my HR data is good and have been using different straps during the time I've had the watch
  • I'll lay odds it's the strap you're using.

I got another LT update last night during a workout that I didn't expect was long enough -- it did cross the LT a couple of times however. The LT heart rate is trending back to where it should be (it has roughly halved the error twice now from the ridiculously-low bad number previously recorded) and the pace was a bit down from where it was the other day (within the band of "expected".)
  • rickj2903 Yes using Chest strap for every run since September 2019 and getting VO2 max but no LT

    Hi,

I would contact Garmin support, the manual states:
The device uses your user profile information from the initial setup and your VO2 max. estimate to estimate your lactate threshold. The device will automatically detect your lactate threshold during runs at a steady, high intensity with heart rate.

TIP: The device requires a few runs with a chest heart rate monitor to get an accurate maximum heart rate value and VO2 max. estimate. If you are having trouble getting a lactate threshold estimate, try manually lowering your maximum heart rate value.
  • rickj2903 Thanks - I think I'll try the specific LT test first and see what I get as a result of that
