Watch only power save mode?

Hi, i search and could not find any option to make the watch only show time/date
It would be very nice to have a quick option do disable all sensors and put some basic watch face and to enable it again.
watch mode only on or off.

if i want to save power for some reason(going to sleep) or disable every sensor it has to be done one by one on diferent menu witch its not practical at all.

anyone else feels that it would be a great option or is it just me?
  • I myself cannot see much use for that mode just because you are going to sleep. Given the generally great battery life in watch mode, why bother. I suspect the most power hungry sensor (other than GPS) is the HR monitor due to the LEDs but this is still minimal. The other sensors use very little power. My opinion.
  • If you really want to cut the GPS and any other sensors, you could make a multi-sport activity, with one being your GPS driven, and the other being a time only mode where no sensors are active.

If you're only pausing one type of activity, use the "Resume later" function. It works quite well.
  • External sensors (and GPS) are only on if you are in an activity that uses them, or when you are on the sensors screen in settings.
  • Not sure that is true Jim - at least in the context of how I read the OPs request. I THINK he is talking about a very low power mode which would turn off HR, barometer, temp, accelerometeretc. I don't think he is asking for something during an activity pause/resume setting or similar as Chevron suggest - This is why I suggested it would have little real life impact on battery. Very possible I do not understand his query - Baldroega - do you want to clarify?
  • The only sensor that draws significant power in watch mode is the OHR sensor. While you can disable this sensor through the menus, the simplest way to shut this down while you are sleeping is just to take the watch off and put it down motionless - the OHR should deactivate within 5 seconds.

The ABC sensors and accelerometers draw such little power that they are not worth worrying about.

    Hi all,

Im talking about not only the OHR, but also wifi, bluetooth, (witch i do have connected to the phone), the moving alerts and also the ABC sensors.
For me the easier solution is turning off the watch, but then i have no alarm.
  • I think this is a very useful mode to have; this is after all a watch and IMHO, it should have the ability to switch all features other than time-keeping related off.  This can be extremely useful if you have forgotten to take the charging cable which is pretty hard to find in some parts of the world.
