Fenix 5 and Stages power meters connectivity problems

Has anyone had any problems with Fenix 5 and Stages power meters?

The Stages powermeter worked perfectly with the Edge 520 that I had before. Sold it to get the Fenix...The powermeter works perfectly with my phone also.

Now with the Fenix 5 I am having unbelievable problems in connecting. I cannot get it to keep the connection for even long enough to calibrate...

The battery life on Fenix seems to be kind of poor as well when you mount it to your handlebars...1h of riding and 20+ points of batterylife gone...
  • Yeah, there's a very weak signal coming from stages PM (I has the Gen2) and it's the only device my Fenix 5 struggled with (my ant+ dongle for Zwift also did). Due to some other reasons I ended up with 4iiii instead, not that this helps with your situation, sorry.

As for battery, it might be a setting, because mine would last around 2 weeks if I didn't charge it once a week.

Thanks for that, this might be at the very least part of the problem then. I do have the Stages Gen2 but have not had any problems with it before. Have to see if I find a position on the handlebars where the Fenix will work. If not, then the Fenix might be a goner - Stages I can switch between my bikes. The strange thing though is that the Stages did work with the Fenix before.

The low battery seems to be something to do with cold weather / wind chill. Mine lasts for approximately 1 week with my normal indoor training if I don't go cycling outdoors and almost 2 weeks without exercise. This is quite bad compared to the Edge unit which I could use in the winter even on -10 Celsius and the battery would just keep going.
