Does the step counter continue when walking on treadmill?

Hi, new user here.
On a fenix 5, does the step counter continue when walking on treadmill? So, when I start a treadmill activity, does the step counter continue to count my steps when I walk or run?

Yes, unless you hold the rail while walking.
