If I were to pick up a Tactix Charlie when they become available, will I have as many widgets and watch faces to choose from (as there are with the 5X)? Or do the developers typically make more options available on the most popular models....in which case maybe go for the 5X??
The available apps will be close, if not the same. But the firmware on the Tactix may be behind the f5x, so that may limit what's available until the Tactix catches up. (the version of CIQ on the watch itself)
The manuals for the tactix Charlie are now available on the Garmin site and the .pdf version indicates that the tactix Charlie has the option to use GPS ONLY, GPS + GLONASS or GPS + GALILEO.
There have been errors in the manuals before, but this is very encouraging info.
Since the tactix Charlie is basically the fenix 5X platform, it is not unreasonable to expect this feature to be ported into the 5X.

Looks like a few more satellites went up last year! If it means I can use (the watch) it within a mile of a building without the track looking like a five year olds drawing, I'll take it!
So it seems, at least according to the latest manual, that it will support Galileo when that comes available in 2020. Until then it'll use GPS and Glonass as the Fenix uses. Overall the tracks produced by my 5x are fine, with some segments all over the place when next to tall buildings or under some trees. Do you think that the tactix Charlie performs better due to titanium bezel and back vs stainless steel?
