  • Problems after reverting to back 8.0 from this beta, where there was none before::::::::::::::::::::::
    Original watchface Digistyle now just displays an IQ error?!
    In Navigate app....select alerts and i get multiple text errors and multiple "Add new" screens?!

    Any Ideas as to what happend reverting back?
    ::::::::UPDATE::::::::
    Multiple "Add new" screens are effecting all native apps!...but only if I add more than two alerts within an app!?..........
    Reverted back to 7.6 now,, so I'm going to roll forward again to 8.0....
    Still cant use the watchface though.
    So I've gone from 8.0 to 8.54.......back to 8.0......back to 7.60.........forward to 8.0 again to get ridd of corrupt files...performed multiple master resets.........and nothings changed...
    On the phone again to Garmin after the weekend....brilliant.

  • ::::::::::UPDATE::::::::
    So I've been on the phone to the garmin tech dept this morning, we've tried different ways to sort out the software including clearing the Apps folder etc...
    with no effect.
    Garmin will now send me a brand new boxed unit in a couple of days.

    Could be a one off?....
    but I will not be reverting software in the future for obvious reasons, and so will be more wary of trying beta's incase I wish or need to revert back.....or maybe its the revert file in this thread link that's the problem?

    Maybe someone will have an answer.

    Just wanted to share the conclusion with everyone, incase someone has the same problem as me.
    All the best.
  • Kayak App -> Thanks, been hoping for this one since Fenix 2 days...
  • Since the new beta, seems every time I brush my teeth I achieve my goal of 1 flight of stairs.
  • Bugs I just reported to the beta team mail:
    BUG #1
    after installing newest beta, each time a finish a run and click "save" activity, watch hangs itself with a blue arrow screen. I need to long press the light key to reboot it. After reboot watch resumes to the normal post activity screen where I can "save" the activity again without any issues.
    BUG #2
    you should change / smooth the way map is being displayed while in activity. Each time I switch to map screen (while running) I need to raise my hand and rotate my arm so that 12hr red mark points to where i'm moving in order to realign mapping and make any sense on where I am, and where should I turn. This takes time. In most cases I need to stop, because running and waiting for the map to redirect itself is pretty dangerous when moving in a forest or mountains.
    This has been an issue for some time now, but it looks like nobody cares to address it. In current state mapping might work well for biking (when mounted on handlebars), might work for walking (where holding your arm firmly for a couple of seconds is not an issue), but it's complete garbage when running.

    You had that right before. It's been broken in the meantime.
  • I state that usually calibrate barometer with my local weather station; every time i start an activity, altimeter change on its own of some meters even if i set automatic calibration off... the bug is here also in indoor activity with GPS off... I noticed also that beta team no longer answer me like it did before, i wrote them many times with no answer... Some time ago they always answer me and try to understand and fix the bug, now it seems they don't want to answer anymore...
  • Since the new beta, seems every time I brush my teeth I achieve my goal of 1 flight of stairs.

    Same here.Or if i am taking 4th floors, the watch it will show me 4 but after a little time the number it's change from 4 to 5.So it count everytime you climb stairs with 2-3 floor in plus.
  • Big battery drain on v 8.54

    ::::::::::::::::UPDATE::::::::::::::::::::
    NOTHING TO DO WITH REVERTING

    Just received my new replacement 5x unit from Garmin.......
    Added three alerts to an activity.......
    and the problem .manifested itself immediately!!
    Back on the phone to Garmin....
    I explained what just happend again...
    so they tested multiple 5x units while i was on the phone, and they had the same software issue immediately in house.

    There should be a software update in a few weeks to address this software bug present in version 8.0.
    All the best.

    ::::::::::::: UPDATE::::::::::24th march....

    DOES NOT EFFECT ALL NATIVE APPS

    Garmin are aware...( had email from product support)
    trailrun is ok for instance....but hike is affected with the "triple alert bug"
    yes i named it :-)
    Don't know the ratio of apps affected as I'm not testing it!.
    I'll keep updating....
    All the best....ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1325420.jpg
  • I noticed also that turn on or off automatic altitude calibration is the same, the watch always calibrate altitude after started an activity...
