5X changes screens and background color mid-activity

It will change the background to black and show my 3rd data screen. It has been doing that for a month now and only during an outdoor bike activity.
After a while, the screen returns to "white" by itself. I can change back to the screen I want, but after a while it changes again.

That's really annoying. Do you have any clue on what is causing this?

Ok, it seems that I have turned the Auto Climb feature for Bike on and that may be the cause. I switched it off and will see if it solves the issue tomorrow.

I noted that today. I was in and out of the woods and felt possibly due to changing light. Turns out, after looking at the manual, it is Auto Climb. It controls the altering of screen color, the change at set intervals and the change as it senses a set rate of climbing or decent.
