Folks - I need some help.
I recently upgraded from my 735 to the Fenix5 Sapphire Edition (Wifi) 3 weeks ago and everything seems to be working ok, except for Smart Notifications - I don't get any whatsoever on my Garmin watch. No ph call notifications, no text msg notifications, nothing.
I have an iPhone8+ with iOS11 (the latest) and have the latest ver of the Garmin Connect app and bluetooth connectivity between the 2 is just fine. I also have the latest firmware on my Fenix5 (ver8.0).
In Settings > Notifications on my iPhone, 'Show Previews' is set to 'Always' on. I can see that under 'Bluetooth' on my iPhone, it confirms that it is 'connected' to my Fenix5. On the Garmin Connect app on my iPhone, it confirms that it is connected to my Fenix5 watch and successfully collects data on my sleep, steps, activities etc. On my Fenix5, when I go to Settings > Phone, the 'Status' says 'Connected'. 'Status' of 'Smart Notifications' is ON ('During Activity', I have set it to 'Show All' and 'Not During Activity', I have set it to 'Show All'). Timeout is 30secs and alert style is 'Vibration'. Just that I don't get any smartphone notifications on my watch whatsoever. I recall that I used to get (only) ph call notifications on my watch initially, but that too has stopped.
I want to make a determination if this is
(i) a settings issue on my watch or phone, or if this is
(ii) a known bug with Garmin (that'll hopefully be resolved soon) or
(iii) if I have a faulty watch that needs to be returned...?
