Today, I purchased a new Garmin Fenix 5x, and decided to try to install a few of the apps I had on other devices. I tried two watchfaces, and one app, and all stated that my device needed to be updated, and wouldn't install. According to Garmin Express, the new watch has firmware v8.0. What's the workaround?
