Bluetooth Connection not Showing on Phone

I recently purchased the Fenix 5X and love it so far but I can't seem to understand how the watch connects to my Samsung Note 8. It says it is connected but I don't see the watch listed in Bluetooth settings on the watch. I know it isn't connected to wireless because I turned wireless off on my watch and it still doesn't show. When I go to settings, Phone and select pair, it says it is paired but still won't show in the Bluetooth settings on my phone. Is it connected but hides the connection? If so, can you unhide it? I want to do this because my phone has the ability to disable the phone locking mechanism if it is in range of a trusted Bluetooth device.
  • Solved this. Many people reported in previous posts that you should try resetting your Bluetooth on your phone. What is missing in those posts is when you turn off Bluetooth, wait until your watch reports it is disconnected, then restart Bluetooth on your phone. If you just reset Bluetooth on the phone and don't wait for the watch to respond, the watch doesn't try to reconnect thus you won't truly reconnect correctly. Your watch should display a sync code that you need to type into your phone. If you don't get that code, you haven't synced properly.
