Screen not readable when cold.

Hi,

During my wintersport vacation and now on cold golf days my display is not readable anymore.
When getting warmer again, the screen fixes it selves.

Any one else with this problem?

The watch is still under warranty.
What is the procedure to get this fixed?

Software version and watch
f?nix 5X - Software: 8.0.0.0

Problem was also with previous software version.

This is a user forum not a support forum (although you will see some interaction by Garmin team members). What you are seeing is not normal - I use my watch out in -20c and colder often - without that effect (although you did not describe how cold it was for you). I suggest you contact support directly - don't expect a Garmin response from here.

I've read the same problem a couple of times posted here, and spoke to someone on Youtube who had the same issue. I think Garmin replaced the troubled watches everytime.( still under warranty)
As razmichael said, give Garmin a ring and go from there.

Hi,

Screen issues start at temperature of ± 5 Celsius, what is not that cold...

Stuck mine in the freezer for a couple of minutes , got down to -9 and screen was still readable.ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1314630.jpg

Did contact Garmin, is still under warranty, flip-side... need to sent the watch in for repair, will take ±6 week until I get a replacement!

I think it's display connector is loose and contraction due to cold makes it looser and cause display problems.

I have the F5, but it is the same screen as far as I understand. Did a XC skiing session for an hour yesterday in -15 degrees C. Had the watch on my arm, on the outside of my clothes. No problems with the screen. The watch reported 0 degrees in the training log, so some body heat kept the watch warmer.

Hi Joeri, How did Garmin react? I'am have a similar problem (see picture) and Garmin is more or less suggesting that I have to accept it, but the watch is useless if I can't read the display. Thanks for your answer

This thread id 6 years old and the OPs watch was still under warranty.
