I recently got a Stages Power Meter for my road bike. I have the left side one only. I read a bunch online about the Stages and Fenix 5X having trouble maintaining a connection. I first set it up using ANT+ and it would drop and reconnect almost once per mile. I switched over to BLE and they connect up almost instantaneously at the beginning of each ride and I've not seen a drop yet.
I was reading a lot about connecting Stages by BLE but I wonder how to do it. When I add a new sensor no option to select nothing. By ANT+ is always dropping, it doesn't work at all. Could you give some advice?
I had the same problem with my Stages PM on my Mountainbike. The solution was connecting over BLE and remove (and not just disabling) the ANT+ connected Stages Sensor. Don't forget to re-calibrate the PM Sensor after this. If you are unsure what communication channel your sensor uses search for a new sensor and a second stages PM sensor will be found. Now check both sensors details and you will be able to find out which one is ANT+ connected, remove this one.
Since I followed this procedure I have a reliable connection with my stages PM.

You have to remove the ANT+ connected Stages Sensor. See the post above.
I know this is an old thread but just adding some potentially useful info. 1) Reset the Stages PM by removing the battery for 1 minute; or short the battery terminals (per the Stages website) 2) Reboot the Fenix before adding the Stages PM sensor (saw this in another thread and seems to help) 3) Use a new battery from a reputable source; not the 20 packs of CR2032s off Ebay/Amazon.
