Polar H10 HR readings in GCM

I have Polar H10 and Fenix 5S. The connection between then is stabme but let us assume I would want to wear the watch and the H10 for a workout (with watch HR disabled), saving HR data to H10 (it allows to save 1 session).

When I finish the session, how can I integrate the HR data downloaded from H10 into GCM? I have not tried this yet. Or can I pair the watch and H10 right after the workout and later pair the 5S with GCM and it will have integrated the HR data already from H10
  • lk130 OK Understand now but it sounds like its going to be a lot of hassle. If you have real connection problems then it would be good to know what's causing them and perhaps fix the problem rather than have a complex workaround. Failing that maybe get a Garmin HR strap that uses ANT to communicate which might circumvent the connection problems (obviously depending on the cause)

mcalista Again, I have no need to download the data from Polar H10 to Fenix 5s at any time at all. I do, however, want to (if at all possible) combine the HR data from the Polar H10 with other workout data from the Fenix 5S (with wrist HR monitoring disabled), resulting in a single workout summary data set in ONE platform, GCM, instead of having to use GCM/GC to view the F5s data and Polar Beat (or whatever it was named) for the HR readings of the same workout session.

Reasons, among others, may include swimming sessions, but the aim here (if possible at all, without having to go through a lengthy importing process, which, currently, seems to be the only option) is to not have to use 2 software products for reviewing the respective workout session summary.

So, far I have been advised to try out 2 step-by-step procedures involving importing/exporting. I want to know if there is or is not a solution that would make it worthwile to not use 2 different software applications for the same common goal.
  • @ldk130 Wouldn't it be easier to solve the connection problems
  • I think there are some .FIT file editing tools out there that would allow you to add some new data streams and then re-import into GCM. But this would be clunky, slow and tedious.

If you are going to be doing workouts on a regular basis where the watch and chest strap are not connected live (eg. swimming, or contact sports), then you are better off using a Garmin HRM-TRI with the F5 (the store-and-forward works within the Garmin ecosystem).

But as you have a stable connection, and don't appear to actually be doing any workouts at the moment where the watch and strap aren't together, just pair the H10 with the watch, and get the data live.
