Are Fenix 5 series & FR935 the only consumer-grade options to get TE 2.0 from HRV?

Are there any alternatives out there for extracting Anaerobic TE from HRV data - for example: uploading from a HR belt's memory post-workout to some software that analyzes the data using Firstbeat's algorithm?

I am on the fence with Fenix 5 because I need acceptable signal range (~2 m) and I'm considering what alternatives I have. It appears that as far as Anaerobic TE is concerned, Fenix or 935 are the only choices. There's no official word on the Fenix 5 hardware revision (improved antenna strength). Right now I'm not willing to take the risk - the watch would hardly ever be on my wrist during workouts so connection stability is paramount.

I wish Suunto added Training Effect 2.0 to the their product line.
  • The Forerunner 645 also offers it.

Using an HRM-TRI chest belt (which offers store-and-download HR functionality) would seem to be a best choice if you are going to be positioned away from your watch. Then you don't have to worry about connectivity at all. (But it would still need to be paired to a device that offers TE 2.0).

I think TE just uses HR data, not HRV.
