All censors running wild today!

Today I discovered my altitude was over 4000m. Tried to calibrate and GPS says 615m. Pressing calibrate ok and it jumps back to over 4000 again, every time.
Temperature says 18'C, use to be around 30, (wrist temp) altitude now 8847m and barometric pressure 226..! Tried on/off but still crazy! What is happening?? Doomsday on its way?

Yeah, welcome to the Fenix 5 club, sucker.

My advice is to swap the watch out with a new one. The only way Garmin is going to fix these problems is if they constantly get returned watches and it starts to eat into their profits.

Sucker..? Well,well if u say so. After a half hour in soap water it's back to normal. Suspect static electricity can be a reason. Dry mountain air, cold weather, wool and fleece clothes.. Won't contact garmin support yet. Will give it another chance.

One of the simplest suggestions I have seen on the static electricity issue is to put the watch on AFTER you have put on your running shirt, rather than dragging a long sleeve top over the watch.

My Suunto Core ABC watch is not affected by static, and they cant even produce a basic digital watch that the buttons work after 4 months. So why cant Garmin on a $600 one?

The crazy behavior only lasted a hour or so. Tried soft reset (25 sec on light button) and as mentioned soap water. Turned off storm warning. Been stable after this.
My F5 is almost a year old and never had this issue before. In fact, never had any real issues.

Regarding static electricity, not easy to avoid, even if I put my F5 on after clothing. Just to sit down or raise from the sofa produces static sparkes.
Well, I hope it was just a glitch and that my watch is back to normal again. :-)
