8.00 Update - Device No Longer Shows Next to Activity on Connect?

Hi folks,

Since the 8.00 update, I am no longer seeing my device next to my activity on completion. I have attached a screenshot as an example.

Usually you get a picture of the device, the Software version etc.

Anyone else getting this?
  • My 5X does not show up, but everything else seems to be fine in terms of updating info about the activity.
  • I suspect it's a GCM problem; it certainly wouldn't be the first time!

GCM "magically" reset my heart rate zones a few days ago without me realizing it too, and not in a reasonably-correct way either......
  • I'm going to report the issue by phone as soon as they're open for business this morning, see if the technical department can see it to......
  • I reported the issues to the Garmin technical department.
I managed to get a member of staff to get a 5x and test an activity upload, and sure enough, she reproduced he same results, " no watch displayed" etc...
She still said they need people to phone in as its the first they've heard of the bug,( it gets escalated sooner) and wanted detailed screenshots which I've sent.( she also sent her's)

    Reported also::::::
Callories changes after activity edit in 4.3
No calories fo car sat nav activity are transfered to GC or GCM after update.
  • @Sam201176 Thanks for raising this with Garmin, and it's good that they could replicate the problem.

Seems odd though - I work for a software company and if a client reports a bug and we can replicate said bug, we don't wait until 'more people' complain before doing anything about it.

I hope that they are now actively working to resolve.
  • Here the same

That is a normal company but Garmin is different....
See the answer about Tides app (Garmin app) about incorrect values (one month later the same)

"Thank you for contacting Garmin Iberia
We have reached the latest version of the Garmin Connect software with a Quatix 3 updated to the latest version of the software, and we have verified that the tide data provided at the Pasajes station differ in almost an hour with the actual forecast. By performing tests with other tide stations in other areas, this difference does not exist, therefore it is a problem of the company that provides the tide database. This problem has already been reported so you can have a solution in the future, but it does not depend on Garmin directly. We remain at your disposal for all. Garmin is probably still in a hardware vendor mode and has not yet arrived in quick release cycle world of todays sofware industry.

Waiting for more customers to report a reproducable problem is poor. Even though the error is not a showstopper it is still annoying.
  • We are aware of the fenix 5x no longer showing in correctly in Garmin Connect and working on a resolution. Thank you for your discussion on this topic and we apologize for any inconvenience.
  • yep, watch and software are back on GC.

    tks.
