Daily Stair Count Problem in v8.0 When Using Elevators

Since installing the v8.0 firmware I find that I meet my daily goal most times when I take an elevator first thing in the morning.
This used to be an intermittent problem before but since v8.0 it has become so bad that the metric is useless.
Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Updated last night and have done a couple of elevator rides today with no stairs count being added. I have been having the opposite problem with the last beta where climbing stays would often only catch one or two flights of 7 - sometimes seemed to be if I went really quickly up, they were missed. Have not had a chance to check this out on 8.0
