Answer call from F5 does not work

Hi,

when somebody calling me, on watch is appeared Answer or Decline call. If I press Decline, call is declined, that works well, but If I press Answer, nothing will happen.
I have Fenix 5 with last 7.60 version and I am using OnePlus 5 with Android 8.0 with OxygenOS 5.0.2

Thank you for tips! :)
  • Works fine since GarminConnect update (4.6.4).

"Accept" call still NOT working on mine:

    GarminConnect 4.6.4
    Fenix 5 8.00
    Samsung S9
    Android (Oreo) 8.0.0

Interestingly enough, the "Decline" function works just fine.

For the record, I opened a ticket with Garmin a while back as well, but have not heard anything.
  • Same issue for me. Decline works but Answer does not. Samsung S7 Oreo.

For me, answer a call to iPhone 7 does not work.
    Other functions work well.
  • Update: I got answer calls working again on my fenix 5x/Oreo by uninstalling the Garmin Connect app and re-installing it, just follow setup and give all permissions then everything is working again, hope this helps ;-)

AWESOME.... I went into the app settings and the permissions section of the Connect App. I had phone turned on, but SMS was off. I toggled Phone and turned SMS on. its now working as it should...

I think I figured it out, thanks to the tip from HLendorf above.
    I've got Samsung S9 and F5

Just reinstalling didn't help, but then I found that the app on the phone got this section: Settings/App Permissions
It lists the things the app got access to: SMS, Contacts, Phone, Location, etc
All of them (or pretty much all) were showing OFF for me, even after reinstallation.

Basically, you need to turn it ON. For that, there are "Manage" links which bring you to the system screen where you can control this stuff for the application.
I just turned on everything there, it started to show ON immediately for all of the SMS, Contacts, etc things in the app, and bingo - it now can accept the calls!

I'd say that Android is getting is more and more secure, which makes it less and less convenient - it just repeats Windows path here - hence this problem.

    Hope the above helps.
