Golden contacts in plug.

Hello,

i just got a new unit after I had sent back mine back to Garmin (HR sensor cracks in the resin)
It's supposed to be a refurbished 5X but it was/look new with the tag "Garmin Connect" on the crystal.

I have noticed the contactors / plug used to be silver on my old one bought in june 2017 now it's golden on this new 5X.

Any info on that upgrade ?

If I remember correctly, there was an issue about the power/data cable continuously loosing connection. They (Garmin) changed the connectors to "gold", and it apparently solved the problem. I'm sure somewhere in this myriad of threads, you can find more info on it. Gold is good/newer.
