Run on a treadmill. Select option to "Calibrate and Save" at end of run. Match treadmill display to that of watch. Save activity. Garmin connect reports calibrated distance but any service synchronised from Garmin connect ( strava, tp etc. ) reports the pre calibrate distance. The Calibrate and Save function appears to actually save the original fit file then modify the data on GC as if you did it by hand yourself. Surely file needs to be fixed on watch before upload occurs ??
Ive only used ones, but then 5x only changed the total distance value in fit file, not the track log itself. Some sites read the value and present that and others calculate it from track log like Strava and TP.
I also just found that. No any changes in pace, speed and so on.. Just corrects distance in fit-file. It is not calibration, it looks like a silly joke from Garmin.
I was going to submit a problem report, but found this, which sounds like the same thing (and over 2 years old!).
My experience is this. On my Garmin 5 Plus, on a Treadmill workout. At the end of the workout, selecting the Calibrate and Save option. I enter the treadmill calibration distance and save the workout. Looking at Garmin Connect I see the calibrated distance, but looking at Strava I see the pre-calibration distance.
