Tempe dropouts

I know, that "tempe" has its algorithm to send the temperature value. However, the watch sometimes overwrites the temperature with the one from the internal thermometer. So there are these weird peaks, as the difference is about 20 degrees. Is there any way, to prevent the internal thermometer to store its values into training?
  • It may help to have the tempe as close as you can to the watch. If you wear the watch on your left arm, have the tempe on the left side too. With mine, I also don't clip it on a shoe, but have a #3 S-Biner (~$2 at Home Depot), and have the Tempe on that, and then it's easy to hang from a pack strap, belt loop, zipper, etc. I recall seeing someone that had theirs attached under the bill of their hat too.
  • But I am not sure, it is related to the connectivity... However I had my Tempe attached to the bag under my seat, on the bike, and the watch on my left arm... But I heard Tempe sends its value according to some algorithm, not every second.
  • It reads the temperature once a minute, and sends it on a regular basis. I'd try having the Tempe closer to your watch. as there could be metal and some of your body between them.

The Tempe runs 24/7, and last quite some time without replacing the battery. The transmitter isn't that strong.
  • I've used a tempe sensor for years with various Garmin fenix's (and epix) and always used the tempe on my left shoe (watch on right wrist) with no issues. I'm awaiting a 5x in the post so hopefully I can still use it on my shoe as always without drop outs!
  • I didn't have dropouts with a Fenix 3, and now I don't have dropouts with a Fenix 5x. I've been using a Fenix 5x for a month without problems.

I use the tempe on my left shoe and watch on the left wrist.
