I know that the update was supposed to improve the reliability of the all day stress reading. However, for me it's done exactly the opposite. Since the update, my stress reading is always MEDIUM to HIGH (51 to 100) even when I'm sleeping! Is anyone else seeing this???
Same for me! My very stressfree days are now reported full of stress, without any restful moments, especially during sleep at night. Moreover, once the day finishes, the data seems to get "reworked" and the all day stress rating toned down a bit. This does not seem very trustworthy and I'm afraid it might be yet another bells and whistles nonsensical rating.
It had been working very well for me BEFORE the update. When I was resting (like lying down reading or taking it easy) it showed rest and showed low to moderate stress when at work (my job is not that stressful) but now it looks like I'm under constant high stress, especially when sleeping. The update ruined this feature, at least for me.
Many people have reported problems in recent updates with incorrect RHR, max HR, HR zones and the like being imported from Garmin Connect. This may lead to the watch thinking you are working much harder than you really are when compared to your baseline rest and maximums, and therefore that you are stressed. You may want to check these settings on your watch.
I called Garmin about this again, but still have no update. They did ask me to upload my Garmin folder to them and said their engineers would look at it, so maybe something will happen?
Thanks, even after firmware 8.0 it's still not working for me either, the hard reset only worked temporarily as you reported, and it's not practical to perform a hard reset constantly as the backup-restore process does not backup everything for some reason and you still have to spend time reconfiguring the watch again (watch faces settings, the fields in all the applications, hot-keys, and many other details, and you loose values such as V02, lactate threshold, etc...
I don't even trust the RHR now as it's been varying enormously from day to day and yet it's showing the same exact value for 4 days in a row... Very erratic behavior.
Same is going on for my FR935. At this rate I must be having some big trouble if I have to believe what my watch says. The worst part is that there is no response from the email support. I am really disappointed by their customer support. I am not sure if I can rely the RHR data. I am more stressed because of this stress widget these days!!
My wife's Vivoactive3 is now doing the same thing with the stress data, so seems like this affects several different Garmins watches... doesn't look good.
maybe is true . 1) Try to go sleep every day the same time and sleep minimum 8 h. 2) drink water minimum 3 liter clear 3) don't drink coffee 4) do not take any medicine 5) don't do any sport 6) before try to do hand reset and everything delete
I have similar issue many times and after high stress score i was been sick or tied and one time hard reset helps
