F5x wrist heart rate is not working correctly

Is anyone experiencing problems with inaccurate WHR information?
Since the last update the Heart Rate information has been inaccurate. In my training it is very normal to surpass 177bpm (Zone 5> 166bpm).
Today it does not register above 166bpm (Zone 4 148-166bpm). Regardless of the level of training, in real time or registered in Connect.
I need help, I perform specific workouts in association with Heart Rate.
  • If you took time to cursorily look through the forum, you'd find out that "inacurate optical HR" is one of the most popular topics here.

If accurate HR reading during intensive workouts is critical for you, then your only option is a chest strap.

Thanks, but this is not the point, WHR was working until last month. Before update. I'm reporting to see if someone has the same problem and if someone has the probable solution.
  • Ok, I see. I think I saw a few reports of OHR issues after last update, but never saw a solution, only other people reporting that it's working for them.

Likewise - noticed my "time in zones" since the update to 7.60 is all over the place on my Fenix 5.

I've updated with beta version 7.91 but the problem persists.
  • My 5X has recently started to understate my HR by approx. 30-40% for the first 45 mins to 1 hr. It eventually works it's way up to where it should be. This problem has only arisen in the past week or so apparently since the 7.6 update. I know it's wrong because I've been riding the same hilly section for some time and I know what the HR should be (and feels like).

I am also facing similar problems after the latest updates. Always 10-20% above my usual readings.
I also checked it wearing a Mio HR to the other hand to be sure ( I gained a lot of weight lately and it could be normal up to a point) and it really is the Fenix with the bad readings

Sorry, but it doesn't say "Inacurate HR readings" in the 600 euros pricing tag.
Fenix 5 supposed to be a 'top of the line' product of the market leader. I came back from Suunto cause I wanted to avoid this kind of problems
  • I am fully aware of that, but that does not change reality. Optical HR can be inaccurate. If it is not accurate enough for you then you either return the F5 and try find a better device or use a chest strap.
