Roll out by percentage, what kind of monejy business are we talking here. either we can all update or non, either is out or not, seriously like there are 1st, 2nd and 3er class buyers with you guys.

You guys are a joke of a company.

Fix the bugs and release the firmware like normal companies.
  • There was a similar discussion on the 935 forum. Someone reported that the firmware is available on the website if you know where to look. If you can’t wait then go and find the thread and check it out, it might be similar with the F5
    The link they specify has the latest beta, but not production firmware.

  • Odie21, thanks for your suggestions about getting a job at Garmin. I am a criminologist, I believe I already got the best job ever, I just could not have another one, I love what I do, thanks anyway.
    I hope I will get a case file with odie21 as a name, I will take care of it as a Garmin employee, I promise I make not discriminate even if it is a family member, I will take my time as a Garmin employee.
    I understand an 800 dollars’ watch entitles me to get a proper working watch, something I still don’t have. I understand as a customer I am allow to complain when the product I bought doesn’t work properly.
    If you think education is expensive try ignorance, ohhhh sorry you did, go and get educated bud.

    I see you really tried with that one, unfortunately my 2 year old son could have come up with something more witty than what you stated. That said, back on topic.

    I’m pretty sure your 5x was working well before the update. There isn’t any product that is heavily software driven that is 100% perfect all the time. But people that complain because someone else got an update for a watch a day or two earlier than you is pathetic.

    I bought the Descent MK1 and I’m not going to sit here and “complain” because someone in France is getting an update a day earlier than me when they roll out an update. When you come on a forum like this and make a feeble attempt to insult the same company that you bought a product from and expect them to take you seriously...lol yeah let’s see how that gets you.

  • Irony on:
    Absolutely inacceptable!
    Why am I not the first user worldwide having FW 7.60??
    50% is done and I’m still waiting!!
    Irony off:
    Should we probably stop feeding trolls? :confused:

    I'm on linux and mostly don't use Garmin services, so instead I monitor gmaptool.eu (*) where every little software update is posted/linked. Then one can build a sort of table of 'interest' and keep an eye on that instead. When 100% is rolled out, as they say, the direct download link can be found in the source of the support HTML-page (at the very top).

    Here's my compilation of this 'fenix' family firmwares and a few more items. Just change the 'id'-numbers:

    Example for download:
    download.garmin.com/.../fenix5X,Display_240.gcd

    Ah... And then one have to install the files with the real internal names like this:

    Place files in:

    Garmin/REMOTESW/

    EPO.BIN
    GUPDATE.GCD = GPS Firmware aka "GPS"
    GUP2605.GCD = Display aka "Disp"
    GUP2663.GCD = Sensor_Hub aka "BLE/ANT/SNS"
    GUP2196.GCD = Wi-Fi aka "Wi-Fi"
    6B259303.GCD = Running Dynamics Pod aka RDPod
    6B232702.GCD = HRM4-Run
    6B175202.GCD = HRM-Run

    Garmin/

    GUPDATE.GCD = System Firmware
    GMAPTZ.IMG = Time Zone Map
    gmaptz.img (on the Fexnix5X, but there is also an gmaptz.sum file...)
    Installed on the Fenix5X on purchase was version 19.00 which is the
    latest from the year before; November 10, 2016.

    (The System FW updates the "CIQ" version as well as the Firstbeat "ETE" and
    "THA" numbers. The Sensor Hub _might_ also changes the "WHR" version)

    This thread cracks me up :cool:
  • Any update from Garmin scares the heck out of me,
    its like playing Slots,the old one arm bandit.....
    I always seem to end up with less, afterwards :-)

    You could look at the percentage rollout as,
    "let those guys test it first" :-)
    I'm one of "those guys" and I see new issues with my device already,being first is not always best.lol.

    You're complaining about the patches... Imagine me, second baro failure, RMA and been waiting for 2 weeks already.
  • I can sympathise with you,I know how you feel.
    Two Fenix 3hr's, one Vivoactive hr and one Fenix 5x replaced since April:-)
