From the first time I bought HRM4 i had problems with run dynamics. My heart rate data works fine but the running dynamics data fields are reporting 0. Have someone the same problem, or it is only mine? Any suggestions?
Two suggestions: 1. Running dynamics do not work while walking, so make sure you are actually running. 2. Make sure you do not wear the sensor upside down.
My first HRM4 failed after 7 months of use. Replacing the battery did not revive it, so I called Garmin tech support, which promptly shipped out a replacement at no cost to me.
Yes, I think I am unlucky. I'm out of warranty. I hoped I could find a solution......
If I have an out-of-warranty failure on any tech device, I often try contacting Support along the lines of:
"I have an ACME Widget purchased in 2014, that has stopped working in the last month after 3 years of trouble-free use. I have tried a. replacing the battery and b. holding it upside down (or whatever other self-help solutions come to mind). I know it is out of warranty, but I was hoping not to have to replace what has been a great device, and wondered if you had any other suggestions."
Companies that have good customer service will often replace it anyway, and other times I have had a response along the lines of "At ACME, we pride ourselves on our quality, and I'm sorry your 3 y.o Widget has failed. Unfortunately that model is no longer in production. But here is a $50 coupon towards a new model."
If I am polite and honest about its out-of warranty status, I figure I have nothing to lose by at least trying.
