Resting heart rate Problem on Fenix 5s

Hi Guys,

I wear my Fenix 5s to bed every night and when I wake up my resting heart rate is displayed as say 48, which is pretty accurate. However at some point in the day my RHR figure will change from a correct figure of say 48 to say 65. So my av for the week is currently 65. This is grossly inaccurate and I can’t say where this data is coming from.
My guess is this is software related, it seems to read my heart rate correctly, but seems to be interpreting the results very strangely.
I’ve updated to the latest firmware. I’m thinking perhaps this watch is a dud.
Has anybody else had issues with RHR.?
Other than this very happy with the watch.

I faced the same problem
One solution is to set sleeping start and stop time to the same value
Exemple : you put 0h00 for both
Normally RHR should reflect the minimum on the whole day

The general (but not universal) consensus amongst sports scientists is that your RHR is the lowest WAKING heart rate.

But with Garmin, sleep is detected on their servers, not on the watch. So after a sync, it may exclude a low RHR as having occured while you were asleep.
