On my GPS Map 64, I set waypoints with proximity distances at critical trail points and transfer to the GPS with Basecamp. Points are usually for trial junctions but can be for special features that are off the trail. When hiking the GPS beeps as I approach the point so I can focus my attention. I am trying to use my Fenix 5 for the same effect. Ideally without having to set it up on watch each time. Can someone help me do this on a Fenix 5?
No hope, you have to do it one at a time on the F5 only. Very very tedious. I have no idea why Garmin dropped this BaseCamp to Device information transfer, it is a backward step.
Thanks for the reply, I've mostly figured out how to what I need from the watch. I've just had to stop thinking of it as a smaller handheld GPS and learn it's capabilities.
