thoughts on purchasing

Hi All,

Just wondering what peoples thoughts were on this, ive decided to pull the trigger on a 5x but wondering if i should buy new online either from Garmin or somewhere like Millets (Millets are slightly cheaper at the mo at £599) or get one of the many that are listed on eBay?

New or slightly used ones on there are currently going for up to £550 - is it worth saving the £40-£50odd or am i better spending that from an authorized online agent?

I’d. It new from a retailer you have heard of. Then if you need to return you know you will be able to.

Its worth saving and waiting another week for the piece of mind,and getting it from an authorized online dealer,preferaby one with high street premises.

Get it to your local retailer.
It's the best device on the planet and has no issues with accuracy if you are willing to INVEST on a foot pod, of any kind.

But the baro is weak and prone to break down. I've had to send 2 back (scroll down the forums) for the same reason so, if you need to, your retailer will take care of it. Hand-to-Hand, no delivery fees.

Looks like price just went up $50 in the USA from all vendors.

Think it's possible there's no major Fenix update to be announced at CES this week and this could be why the price went up? I just bought it (the 5X) from Amazon at $599 last week. I was planning on returning it if Garmin announces something amazing this week.

I was holding off as I wanted to see as well. It does not appear there was any announcement yet, but the price jump is confusing. I had expected a reduction if something new was coming... ie 6. If not they may have updated features yet unannounced for new stock. I'm not paying $650 now. Even if a feature such as pay is added, that's not of interest to me. I use a 310XT now and a 62S so the 5X would be a cool upgrade but waiting for the battery to not hold a charge on my 310XT or the price to be somewhat compelling.
