I'm looking to upgrade my Garmin to a Fenix 5X and have seen a good deal on one but it looks as though it will be coming from Asia. Has anybody had any issues with one bought from Asia or know of any issues. Thanks in advance Will
I would Imagine the maps on the device would be optimised for around Asia? ( not Europe GB American maps etc...) Would that suit you,where are you based.
I wouldn't have thought so unless otherwise stated? Also your warranty might be with the company you bought it from,meaning you may have to send the device back to them if faulty. You can download many different maps on the watch for the uk yourself,contours,routable,bike,automobile,topo etc...some are just as good and free. But you won't have any standard built in maps for the uk. Also not sure if you needed to ring Garmin for a problem,you might have to go down the Garmin Asia path.(watch serial number) Anyway these are all just my thoughts,and its what I'd be looking into first before i decided on the deal. With an APAC (Asian-Pacific) version you won't be able to use ROW (Rest of World) betas, and the production FW may lag the ROW devices by a month or more. With an APAC device, the choices of language are also English and the APAC language. So you can't use French, for example.
You may be able to get a ROW device from Asia. ROW and APAC devices have different Garmin Part numbers.

That's right it wont have the Uk and Europe maps installed.
