Running Dynamics Pod Data... Where is it!

Hi - I'm looking for help!

I have just bought the Running Dynamics Pod and have completed my first run... When I go to the dashboard I cannot see any Pod data? Am I using the wrong software?
The pod is connected and working but I don't know where the data is going to - the instructions are rubbish at best!

Any help appreciated - Ian

Hi Crispin, thanks for the info but it des not address my problem. When I log on to Garmin Connect and look at my run - it shows my fenix 5 and pod on the right hand side with the run details entered... The data from the pod is not displayed, ie all the stuff in the videos....
  • Hmm. That’s not normal; especially as you say it’s showing the RD pod in Garmin Connect. I have heard of people missing CIQ data graphs (from Stryd or RunScribe) as their Garmin Connect accounts are not recognising their watches properly, but I’ve never heard of Garmin’s own RD data not making it into the graphs on Garmin Connect. Any chance you could post a link to one of your Garmin Conn3ct run activities with this issue (only if you’re comfortable doing so, and have set up privacy zones in Garmin Connect before making public so we can see it).
The other thing to try yourself is upload one of the fit files direct from your watch (go to the GARMIN/ACTIVITIES folder) to https://fit2tcx.runalyze.com/temp/ where you can actually see the info recorded every second in the fit file to see if the RD Data is recorded (see an example screen shot below)ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1289809.jpg
  • Using the "Last Sport" widget on the watch, you should be able to check the Details of your last run whether the Running Dynamics (eg. Ground Contact Time, Vertical Oscillation, etc) were recorded on the watch. At least then you will know whether the problem lies between the pod and the watch, or the watch and Garmin Connect.

Thanks for help guys - it's not in the watch... I will run again tomorrow and see if it collects the data - It was definitely connected to the watch because it reminded me to remove it after the run... I will run through setup again now...

Okay - my Pod was definitely connected during the run because it warned me to remove it after the run and it showed the running (pod) icon during the run. I have attached the FIT dile and a screen shot :) Loving the help - thank you :D

  • I’ve just run your fit file through the website and it seems the RD data is not being written to the fit file. Maybe there’s actually something up with your RD Pod; so maybe time to contact Garmin support or just return it to the shop for a replacement.

    Also, Happy New Year!ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1289929.jpg

On your next run, I'd suggest including some RD fields in your data screens, so that you can check that the data is actually being collected by the watch. If the data is not being collected, despite the watch showing it as connected, then it is time to contact Garmin about the RD pod.

I know I have had some sensors that "connect" to the watch, but NEVER show any data.
