Impossible Bluetooth sync!!!

I'm trying to sync my 5X with Galaxy S8, but it's impossible! I can't add or remove widget, app, data field, watchface, nothing! The watch seems connected but when i try to do something it disconnects! I'm now with 7.54b but i tryied also with 7.00 with no luck! I'm so tired to waste my time with a so stupid thing like pair my watch with my phone!
  • Sitting in the same boat.

    with the current versions of Fenix 5X and Samsung S8 running Garmin Connect mobile the Bluetooth connection is a nightmare. (No problems with other bluetooth devices in general with S8, e.g. hifi headset, TV)

    - connection can always be established when paired
    - it will never go green when you wait 1-2 minutes after switching on bluetooth on both devices after e.g. it was off
    - pairing doesn't seem to be a problem, 5X is coupled immideately after bluetooth on, but the connect app is not recognizing this behaviour (and all connect services, REST api) fail

  • Happy that i'm not alone! I have tried the impossible but doesn't help! I also have many devices like Fitbit charge 2, and and an ambit3 peak that work like a charm! Also for me pairing is not a problem, works almost instantly! Notification also doesn't work!!!

    Seems to work now:

    I am still running 7.54 on watch but upgraded my S8 (unbranded) to the Samsung Beta program that flashed Android 8.0 (change log tells multiple Bluetooth updates e.g. regarding Sony LDAC codec support.). Or maybe the process management keeps Garmin Connect mobile more stable. Who knows.

    Did a short bluetooth off on, at least now the connection gets established quickly.

    I also have similar issues with my S8+ . What I find sometimes helps is to reboot the phone , or go and pair the watch again. Definitely only an issue with the S8 , as my S7 and 2 tablets work no problem.
  • I noticed that something work flawlessly for hours and than stops to receive notifications even if watch results connected... If I open connect mobile, watch results in first time connected and than disconnect s and reconnects again... Switch off and on Bluetooth something works and something doesn't... Also reboot the phone not always works! Very disappointed!
