Deleting Data/Maps from Watch to Add New Maps

Pertinent background information: I have a European model watch I bought through Amazon seller in KANSAS! I will be using this almost always in the US. I have the US 100k TOPO map and the US Cycling Map in Garmin Express.
My Challenge: I cannot download the US Cycling routable map through Garmin Express as the watch is short 2 GB in storage.
My Request for Help: 1. What would be the map/activity files I can delete? 2. If I delete maps from my watch, will I be able to add back if I do ever get the opportunity to run in Europe?

Really appreciate any help provided. I couldn't find anything in the help files, and the support chat got me 50% of the way there. I will admit I am hesitant to delete anything in case of FUBAR-ing my watch.

I live in South Africa , and we also get the European maps by default. What I did was to backup all files starting with gmap in the root directory of the watch . I then deleted these and put them back one by one and then went and had a look on the watch under an activity setting like run/map/configure maps to see what map each file represented , and removed them again if they wren't what I wanted.. Bit of a PITA but at least I didn't break anything.

Thats not a PITA at all... :P ... Pretty sure I understand your method. Will give it a shot.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a Garmin Express, Manage Maps sort of feature? Not a developer at all, but seems like something that would be much nicer user features.

Granted, if I bought the right region watch I would never had to worry about it.

I have reported this bug since 6.84b to beta team but seems that they don't care about this... It's strange that for some bug they have answered me quickly and for others like this I haven't had any answers...
