Get the Fenix 5 or hold off for Fenix 6(?)

I'm wondering if anyone can give me any feedback on whether i should get the 5 or get the Fenix 3 and wait for the new watch?
I'm currently using an AW Sport S2 but I'm tired of the battery life and fiddling with the touch at the end of workouts.
I've decided to go back to Garmin(previously owned a F3 HR Sapphire) but i can't decide if i should get a used F3 Sapphire(~300EUR) and wait for the next Fenix watch, maybe one's coming out spring 2018?
Or should i just get the Fenix 5? It's 470-560EUR(used-new, sapphire) but if the new watch is just around the corner i'd rather wait for that one.

I have Fenix 5, and I love the battery life of ~3 weeks with heart rate monitor. I don't really use or care much about the sports apps. I love the notification, phone calls, weather and different time zones. I wouldn't hold much hope for Fenix 6 though. I can tell what Fenix 6 will have, some memory for music, and probably Garmin pay. Other than that I don't know what else Garmin would offer.

With every software update, I get exited hoping that Garmin will add some more smart features, but unfortunately, I get disappointed. For example, a simple feature like a selfie button to take a photo while in camera mode on an iPhone is not available while cheaper watches have this simple function. Also, what about adding quick reply to text messages? like Yes, OK, or NO, or a custom reply.

Those are the type of exiting smart features I am looking to add.
  • Sounds like you're in the market for a generic smart watch rather than a rugged sport watch, Rool1212. Garmin's stuff isn't cheap, so if you don't care about sports but would rather remote control a phone, you can probably get better value for your money from other manufacturers.

I'm actually enjoying the Apple Watch 3. I get about 1.5 days if I use 2 hours GPS and working with bluetooth music and LTE. I never carry my phone anymore. That alone has me loving the AW3. Now, I really miss having buttons instead of the touch screen of my Fenix 3 HR, and the battery life.

I really hope the Fenix 5 Plus (with music) has LTE or something. I will probably switch back. I miss a lot of things about my Fenix, but not enough to ditch the AW3.
