Hi I have been using the 5x for 6 month’s now and using it mostly for running I was always getting training status from

Productive ,maintaining, peaking recovery unproductive and overreaching .

However for about the past month I am only getting unproductive and detraining I have got the detraining after taken 5 days off to see if I just needed a rest however yesterday I did a fast for me 10k and again I am getting unproductive.

I have tried doing long slow runs

Fast runs interval runs but still after all runs now I am getting unproductive

Any taught would be great

Thanks

Mick
  • BenBristol the Training Status widget can describe your fitness level based on your VO2 max. VO2 max can only be calculated during outdoor activities where heartrate or power data is collected. That's why if you press the start button on the Training Status widget, it will ask you to record outdoor activities. Personally, I'm not a runner or a cyclist, so my Training Status also shows "No Status."

It's also important that VO2 max data stay current, so extended periods (more than one or two weeks) without new VO2 max readings collected will also cause your reported levels to reduce.

If I remember right you need to set your personal info weight age height and use it outdoors

Thanks - I play a lot of football outdoors but treadmill indoors due to the hot climate so that explains it.
  • Hi Mel, do you still need the file, it seems that something has already been done at least the status changed to maintaining.

Hi garmin team, I also have problems with the Trainig Status, I got for several weeks/months 'No Status'. Followed with message: 'Run outdoors with heart rate twice to see your status'. This I did many many times but I still got 'No Status'. I regularly do outdoor jogging 3x or 4x per week arround 10k.
I do not remember if this 'No Status' problems happened after some update. But until today no change with 'No Status' status. Could this be also related to a wrong VO2 calculations? I have best best jogging performance since starting using Garmin watch, nevertheless my VO2 dropped by several points within few days since I got the 'No Status'.
Is it the bug related problem? Or do I do something wrong? My HR is calculated automaticaly.
    Thank you

    A bit of an update

First thanks Mel for taking the time to look into this

I sent Mel the file as I was asked and Mel said they could not see anything wrong .

Personally I think it had froze some how after I got the response from Mel the compass and hart rate history last 4 hours froze so I ended up doing a master reset and lost all history this seemed to fix the problem I then had to give it a week of training before it started to give performance status like it would as a new watch now in the last 6 days I have gotten status as I did before it froze I have had

2 days of it showing maintaining

    3 days of productive

    1 day of recovery

The recovery one did surprise me as it came after a long run for me. I will see how it goes after a few more days

    Hi,

A doubt, if you have a bike with a power meter there is no need for an outdoor activity, right?
I'm on 7.10 for a while a I've got a NO STATUS for the first time in 5 months.
Actually on day of that happening I had an increase of my FTP... (calculated by Xert). https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/2423644617

    Thank you,

What annoys me, is that you can not get vo2Max indoors with footpod. The weather is not that nice 12months a year all over the world. If I am lucky I can run outdoors once a week...sometimes once a month....so treadmill it is for me.
and eventhough my running shape is improving, the watch is killing my Vo2 value... ???? ?
