Yet again intensity minutes not being recorded

After a hard reset three weeks ago intensity minutes were once again recording and I was able to sync to garmin connect mobile. While I can sync to garmin connect mobile the intensity minutes are no longer recording, it seems the more things change the worse it gets.
  • Same here...
I have two devices (Edge 820 and Forerunner 35) for recording activities but the "Intensity minutes" is not shown in Garmin Connect or in my watch. I think that is more related to Garmin Connect app, because in the past all my activities recorded by the Edge 820 was counted in the Garmin Connect and also in my watch. Yesterday I had a ride that should be taken into account but the "Intensity minutes" shows 0 effort.
The watch HR sensor is activated all the time so it is not a HR issue. Also the Edge is paired with an external HR belt when I ride indoor or outdoor.

Browsing the "Intensity minutes" history is not working beginning with the 10-16 September week. I do not know what happen then... Still digging for an answer. :)ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1405847.png

    Hi, I've joined this club.

At first I thought it was related to v10.55 beta, but seems not to be the case -just found this thread-. I've also discovered that intensity minutes, in my case, are tracked when not on an activity (e.g. works as always for casual walking, but bike activity is not being added).

Also noticed that -yesterday- I was receiving and error when trying to update the objective from default 150 to 200 minutes through Garmin Connect Mobile on my android tablet. Weird though, I've been able to update this goal from my mobile phone (also Android).

I retry a soft reset just in case.

Any other ideas to try before doing a factory reset?.

    Thanks!.

I've had issues with intensity minutes not counting and have found it follows a recalculation of my HR zones by my Fenix5. What I usually find is that it has set my max heart rate way to high so that zones based on that max heart rate result in me getting no intensity credit. I reset my max heart rate to 220 - my age and it recalulates my heart rate zones based on the max I entered, I sync my watch, and I start getting intensity credit again.

Thanks Tom, tried that but no luck. Bike activity was not tracked, but casual walking did. I will keep trying. Cheers!

To be clear, there are different heart rate zones for running, biking, and general. You reset all three? I usually do this on the GC website. That seems easiest. Then I sync my watch after.

Yes Tom. Ended up with a full reset. It seems to be working now, but it certainly counts much less intensity minutes than it used to (or at least what I recall).

Something in the logic must have change. Need more time and tests to understand how it works now. Cheers!

What do I do about this issue? My Garmin Venu has started to do this as well and not calculate my vigorous intensity workouts.

  • Has anything ever been sorted out regarding this? Mine is hit and miss, missed Monday and Wednesday this week, but gave me credit for tuesday

  • Finally-I went for a ride tonight and Intensity Minutes finally registered correctly again!  I checked my FW and see it has 15.40 installed on it-now I don't want to go up to V19.0!  It took sooo freakin long for them to finally fix the IM counter I don't want the watch to be messed with now!

  • 18.72, which is in fact 19.00 counts intensity minutes without issue, so you do not have to be afraid to upgrade.
