Altimeter totally whack (Ver. 6.0.0)

Hi there,

since ver. 6 it seems my altimeter is totally off. I am currently at home, less than 50m above sea level and the Garmin watch tells me I am at -700m.

I have tried to recalibrate it via GPS, I even looked up the air pressure to adjust the height. It works for a short time, then it goes back to the whack reading.

It seems to do fine with altitude changes (as far as I can tell) but the height readings themselves are totally off.

That seems not a software issue but more like a hardware issue. Fenix 3 HR users had a lot of those issues and Garmin replaced their watches. It seems as time goes on, Fenix 5X models start to have the problem too.

I'm thinking hardware too - mine is on 6 and sitting about 3 feet higher than where I am. Guess its the exposed sensor - my old (MS) watches used to constantly break and show me jumping off 100 foot cliffs before riding 100' below see level. Used to drive me nuts. Would send it back, replacement would work for a few weeks, then go again.

Was hoping was past that type of experience!

Similarly I tend to calibrate every time before I run as otherwise I seem to be running several metres underwater. I am soo talented..
