Fenix 5 and Android MotoG keep Un-Pairing

I have had my Fenix 5 for about 7 months now. The initial setup and pairing with my MotoG worked seamlessly for several months until recently I purchased a Garmin Smart Index Scale. That too paired well with my MotoG. But ever since then, my fenix 5 drops the pairing with my MotoG after several hours. This has continued for a while now. I have to re-boot each device and re-pair phone and fenix 5. Sometimes having to repeat the reboot until they finally can see each other and I can proceed with the re-pairing. Very tedious, time consuming and frustrating. Is this a problem with my fenix 5, MotoG or new Smart Index Scale? Any help/advice is appreciated. Thank you.
  • I don't have a MotoG or a Smart Index scale, so this may not solve your problem. But if my watch and phone have trouble re-establising a connection, I enter the BT settings on the phone, and that seems to reset things (I don't have to change anything, just entering the settings page seems to do the trick) - still tedious and frustrating, but less time consuming than a reboot. :)

    Take a look at the BT status on your watch - when it changes from Waiting for Phone to Open App on Phone, you know it has worked.

    Unfortunately that did not solve my problem. I am still having to re-boot phone and watch, remove fenix 5 in Garmin Connect, and then add it (fenix 5) back to my devices in Garmin Connect. This is an extremely long process each time! Wish I could determine why the blue tooth is dropping out an hour or so after I add it back to Garmin Connect. Both phone and watch have blue tooth enabled. Thanks again for your help.
