I find if I wear the 5X overnight to track sleep I get an itchy rash I think from the plastic sensor. Anyone else experience this and found a way (other than just not sleep tracking) to stop it? Thanks!
I ted to get that from time to time with any watch that I wear fairly tightly. I have a 935 and what I do if I notice that I am getting a slight reaction is switch it to my other wrist for the night. I usually find that is enough to stop the rash developing further. I only need to do this once every few weeks at maximum.
Thanks for responding. I'll try that. I was wondering if there was something clear I could coat the sensor with but I guess that might cause a malfunction.
I have to admit I posted this originally because I hadn't seen anyone else mention this rash issue before but I'm a burn victim so I do have sensitive skin. I have tried switching arms for sleeping with the watch but my arms are different diameters and I'm using the metal band. The OEM silicone band sends my rash through the roof so I had to order the OEM metal band. It took a while before I recognized that it was the sensor plate on the bottom of the watch which my skin was apparently reacting to. Thanks to this community for all the responses to my question. I guess I really don't need the sleep data either but I'm a gadget guy and love the data.
Yes I get this too, so I don't wear my watch in the shower anymore and if I forget I make sure I take it off afterwards and make sure the watch and my wrist are perfectly dry. I also swap from left to right if I have the slightest sign or itch before the irritation gets any worse. I also use a bit of skin rash cream and leave the watch off for an hour here and there and things are much better now.
I used to get this also, a trick I found to avoid it is to spin the watch around to the inside of the wrist for sleeping, it's easier than taking it off and swapping wrists. It still records HR fine and gives the skin time to breathe overnight and I've not had rash/itching since doing this.
I had in the past similar rash from the white gold wedding ring, now I get it from 5x sensor. As white gold contains nickel or manganese one of these may be present in the sensor area?
I get it on both hands. After the rush the Stress measurement never came back to the initial levels. It is way down now :-)
