Elevations corrections enabled? Please tell me your FW and Reference ID

Does anyone have problem with elevation corrections enabled on Fenix 5?
Problem also described here: https://forums.garmin.com/forum/into-sports/garmin-connect/1257412-garmin-connect-not-recording-barometric-data-from-my-fenix-5s

According to Garmin support, we are the only 2 people with this problem.
If some of you have this problem and mentioned to garmin support, please give me your Reference ID, so I can say to garmin, there are more of us. If you just found that you have the problem, please register a ticket at garmin, and give them my Reference ID: 10549963K0

Thanks
  • Hi everyone,

We appreciate your patience with this issue. The Garmin Connect team is planning to implement a fix for all users with elevation corrections becoming automatically enabled. My understanding is that it will prevent any future activities from being affected, but will not apply to past activities.

Unfortunately, I don’t know for sure when they will implement the change, other than sometime in early 2018. It will largely be a silent fix – you won’t see any notification of the cleanup until elevation corrections begin working again. However, I am planning to post here once I have received word that the change is in effect.

Unfortunately the same issue that is causing elevation corrections to enable is what is preventing CIQ data from displaying with your activities in Garmin Connect. You'll still be able to view this data on your watch in the mean time.

I understand that waiting for this fix is inconvenient, and I apologize for the wait.

You are still welcome to send us an email with your device information, as I described in a comment before. I am making note of all the unit ID's and account information that we receive. However, the team in charge of the fix will be implementing it for all users. So although your unit ID may be randomly selected for confirmation, it is no longer necessary as the fix will not be issued one-by-one like we originally thought.

    Thanks,
    Mel

  • Thank you for the update and the acknowledgement that this is indeed a GC issue.
Shame the fix will likely take a few more weeks but looking forward to having this resolved nonetheless.

    FINALLY!!!

It took two years to understand that the productid that is stored in the fitfile should be used to identify the product. Not by looking at the unitid that is unique for each unit.
The productid is designed for this and is part of the specification.

  • Yeah!!! I've been running with a Stryd running power pod and driving me crazy that I can't see the power on GC. I have to keep going to the Stryd web site to see power. I did use my 920 a few times which showed the power on GC, but the 5S is my preferred watch.
  • Elevation corrections still Enabled (and no CIQ FIT file data) in my profile as of now.
  • It's the same with me, Elevation corrections is enabled and no CIQ data!
  • January ending soon and the problema is still to resolve. Meanwhile running power has been updated for 3rd parties app. How long will it take???
  • Disappointing this takes so long. I believe it's been established this is a bug introduced on Garmin's side some time ago which impacts the advertised functionality of the device - and as such, should be fixed ASAP.
  • I have a Forerunner 935 and have the issue with elevation corrections. Every run I do, Elev. corrections are enabled by default.
